As we planned last year, we are making a few changes this year, so here is what to expect.
Course Distances will be shorter so we're not shortening them last minute
We are expecting it to be warm weather as it has been all summer in England and our Box End race is usually hot. Two years ago it even ended up dogless. This causes us issues having to move the start line, reposition marshals, and try and let you all know in time for your race starts.
To combat this, we are shortening the courses from the off. The long course will be 3.6km, short course 2.4km, Novice and Odds and Bods 1.3km. As the courses have been shortened in advance, we will not be shortening them on the day should it hit 14 degrees or above. The only change that will happen is if it hits 20 degrees, it will become dogless. Due to the courses being shorter than usual, this has been reflected in the entry price, see attached.
Note that Novice has now changed from being the short course, which was often more technical than novices were ready for so we have decided it is better to start on a shorter less technical course and make it the same as Odds & Bods (roughly a mile).
Races in the morning as usual
We will be running all the usual races in the morning, 1 and 2 dog canicross, wheels and scooter.
Dogless Race
Fancy facing off against your biggest competitors dogless? We will start at approx. 1:30pm. There will be a mass start dogless race over the 3.6km course. Dogless wheels and dogless canicross available.
Other Activities
We will also see the return of swimming with your dogs on the Saturday afternoon. Other activities we are putting on include Pilates and Sports Day Games. Which will you choose to do outside of racing? - or choose all three!

07:00 - Registration Opens
08:00 - Bikejor & Scooter - Long Course - Individual timed starts
09:30 - Canicross - Long Course - Individual timed starts 1
10:45 - Bikejor & Scooter - Short Course - Individual timed starts
11:45 - Canicross - Short Course and Novice - Individual timed starts
12:30 - Bikejor & Scooter Odds and Bods - Individual timed starts
13:00 - Canicross Odds and Bods - Individual timed starts
13:30 - Under 8’s and Under 6’s canicross
13:30 – Dogless 3.6km race (choose dogless wheels or dogless canicross with a mass start for each)
14:00 - Pilates (min 8 required) £11 per person, please pre-book
15:00 - 16:15 Sports Day Games - FREE just turn up
17:00 - 18:00 - Swimming with your dogs, £7 per person, please pre-book (briefing at 16:45)
